Registration Requirements

To register for the Back-up Care Advantage program, you will be asked to provide the information listed below.  When you are making a reservation for care, you will receive additional provider-specific registration materials to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for your family member, and to satisfy state and local regulatory requirements for providers.

Child Care Requirements

The following information is required for registration for back-up child through the Back-up Care Advantage program:

  • Child’s name, date of birth and gender  
  • Name and contact information of your child’s parent(s)/guardian(s)  
  • Employer name, job and work contact information for the parent/guardian(s) whose employer(s) participates with Bright Horizons  
  • Description of child allergies or other food restrictions, diagnosed special needs and/or medical conditions, any activities from which your child is restricted, and other background information about your child’s care needs 

Elder/Adult Care Requirements

The following information is required for registration for back-up elder/adult care through the Back-up Care Advantage program:

  • Elder/Adult’s name, date of birth and gender 
  • Name and contact information of the employee requesting elder/adult care for their relative. 
  • Employer name, job and work contact information for the employee(s) whose employer(s) participates in a Bright Horizons elder/adult care program. 
  • Description of elder/adult allergies or other food restrictions, diagnosed special needs and/or medical conditions, any activities from which your elder/adult relative is restricted and other background information about care needs
  • Home address information and phone number for the elder/adult care recipient

Submission of registration information and materials
Registration forms can be submitted via the following methods:
  • Best Method - Online at www.brighthorizons.com/backup (select “Register Your Child/Request Reservations” and log into your online account or create an account if you are new to Bright Horizons back-up care.  If you are new to Bright Horizons back-up care your employer’s username and password will be required to establish your online account.)  
  • Online at www.brighthorizons.com/advantage to access your employer’s Back-up Care Advantage Website.  Your employer’s user name and password is required to log in.

Reservation Request Requirements
  • Participating employees must begin the registration process before requesting reservations  
  • Children and elder/adult care recipients must be fully registered with up-to-date registration information before they are able to participate in a Bright Horizons back-up care program.  
Reservation Policy

Confirmed reservations are required for all children and elder/adult care recipients using the Back-up Care Advantage program. Bright Horizons accepts reservations one month in advance up to the day care is needed.* All children and elder/adult care recipients must have complete and up-to-date registration information in order to participate in a Bright Horizons back-up care program.

*Some programs may allow an extended advance reservation period.

Reservation Requests
  Reservations requests can be placed by phone or on-line through the employer’s Back-up Care Advantage Websites. Knowledgeable consultants will evaluate advanced reservation requests and respond by email or phone as soon as possible.
Cancellation Policy

If you have a confirmed reservation and your plans for care change, please contact the Back-up Care Advantage program immediately. Notifying us of a cancellation will assist us in making every effort to accommodate other families' requests. Reservations must be canceled no later than 5:00 pm on the business day prior to the day reserved for care. No-shows and late cancellations may be counted as a utilization. Co-pays (if applicable) may apply. Parents who are waitlisted but find care before the scheduled date are encouraged to cancel from the waitlist to allow us to quickly offer any available space to another family who still needs care.
